Get an e-mail from our new Dance teacher that we'll have our classes on Sundays, Starting September 7th, every 2nd week (perfect) at 4h30 PM, which is great since (as Gabriel says) we can go away for a short week-end and come back just in time for the dance class. Studio de Danse Harmonie -

— Officially an Adirondack-46er! and so is Gabriel. The letter was mailed on August 11th, so still while Gaby is 50 , the day before his birthday!

Marykaa :  It dépends on the hike.. Like when we did Flume and Liberty in the Whites, I really wanted it to be dry, even dry a couple of days before the hike.. It had a reputation of being slippery going up to Flume / If they announce thunderstroms, usually they're in the afternoon so we'll leave earlier and be on our way down when we take the risk . I'd HATE to be caught up high with thunder and lightning. Have been scared a couple of times with lightning close but not on top. / Have had some memorable hikes with an enourmous amount of rain.. like after LWJ & UWJ the rain started at Armstrong, We'd already done Gothics a few years ago so we were coming down trail # 34.. It was absolutely pouring rain 4 hours non-stop.. of course it was more slippery and we had to be more careful, but that's just part of the game. oh, and the forecast was "scattered showers" LOL

It's OPENING NIGHT at the new Rendez-Vous 6566 Jarry Est, Montréal. There was standing room only and we only stay for a couple of hours, but vouch to come back more often. here.. or anywhere we can dance.

First ever forum fall gathering.

For something completely different but guaranteed to be very enjoyable we banged our heads together a few times and came up with this:

  • When: September 12-14.
  • Where: Tmax-n-Topo's Hostel.
  • Who: forum members and their friends and family.
  • Attractions: bonfire, live band (maybe), hiking (duh!), outdoor cookery, giant-sized tent in case of rain, full access to all hostel facilities for one and all, socializing with forum members from around the world, including Canada.
  • How much: for indoor accommodations, 2 night minimum, regular hostel rates. For camping, no minimum stay , $15 per person per night, maximum number of campers = 30
  • To reserve: contact David (tmax.n.topo@gmail.com)
  • Goal of weekend: fun and only fun although Tmax and Topo have kindly offered to donate a percentage of the accommodation fees to the Foundation, which is pretty cool.
  • Things to bring: barbeques, chairs, tables, food & refreshments (we'll start a food thread), and firewood if it meets these criteria.

P.S. I have been informed by nit-pickers that it won't really be fall. Those who wish to call it something else, like end of summer fling, or pre-fall get-together may do so as they please. Additionally, we did once have a fall gathering at the Inn formerly known as the Ark but why get technical?

For the first time when I attack I jump to hit the ball. Not high, but it's a start. Something snaps at the outside of my right knee.. people 15-20 feet from me hear it.. it hurts but not too bad.. Ice it when I get home.

The group of 7 (Gaby, Dominic, Sylvain, Annie, Michelle, Philippe, Jean-François)  decide who are the regulars. Them and Nathalie, Anne, Me, Jade, Jean-Christophe, Elise, André, Geneviève. It is each person's responsability to find a replacement if we are absent. There is a list of substitutes with phone numbers.

ON INJURED LIST :/
 2:00 pm : I still can't really straighten my right leg nore put weight on it when it's almost straight. Spill hot coffee on myself when my leg gives out as I step back from the sink. I'm scared, even though I have good hopes that it will be ok. . Ask Gaby to buy me crutches.
5:00 pm : I can straighten my leg but it still hurts when I put weight on it if it is straight. ( Like in dancing chacha with style ! )
8:00 pm : Still getting better but go buy crutches, I've been wanting to have a pair for à while.. just in case. Besides I've wanted one for long, in case I hurt my left metatarsals. 

(update next day) : knee is good.
